Iraqi Ambassador in Washington Discusses Strengthening Partnerships in Education and Antiquities Protection

The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United States, H.E. Nizar Al-Khairallah, held a series of high-level meetings with American officials to enhance cooperation in the fields of education, antiquities protection, and cultural exchange.

In a meeting with Congressman Seth Moulton, discussions focused on strengthening Iraqi-American relations and expanding cooperation within the framework of the Mutual Educational and Cultural Exchange Act (MECEA). Regional developments, including events in Syria, were also addressed during the meeting. The Ambassador extended invitations to several members of Congress to expand the membership of the Iraq Group in the U.S. House of Representatives, aiming to foster dialogue and increase cooperation for the benefit of the bilateral partnership.

Art Exhibition

The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq, in cooperation with the Iraqi Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities, and the Iraqi Children Foundation (ICF), will hold an art exhibition for children (6-12) years old, on Saturday June 8,2024 (3:00 -6:00 pm) at the Embassy.
Please send two paintings for your child (40 x 50 cm), including the child’s name, age, and phone number, to the address of the Embassy (1801 P Street, NW, Washington DC, 20036), no later than Monday, May 27,2024.
The Embassy will select (30) child to participate in the exhibition.



Study in Iraq" Program Launched to Attract International Students for the 2024/2025 Academic Year

The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Washington is pleased to announce the launch of the "Study in Iraq" program aimed at attracting international students to Iraqi universities for the 2024/2025 academic year. The program offers 14,322 academic seats from 59 governmental and private Iraqi universities. 57% of these seats are allocated to full scholarships, while 43% are for partial scholarships. The scholarships are available in medical and health sciences, engineering, pure sciences, agriculture, veterinary, administrative, law and political, educational, and humanities disciplines, and are open for undergraduate, postgraduate diploma, master's, and doctoral levels. In an effort to streamline the visa application process, the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Washington announces the launch of its e-visa service. This new service eliminates the need for an embassy visit; applicants can simply apply by visiting the following link: https://evisa.iq . The e-visa is available for single or multiple entries into Iraq.
To apply for the e-visa, the following documents are required:
1. A valid passport.
2. A digital photograph.
3. Proof of residency.
4. A personal email address from which the visa will be received.
Afterward, applicants must fill out the online form, upload the required documents, pay the visa fee using a secure online payment method, and then print out the visa to present at the airport.
