H.E. Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi meets His French counterpart in Paris

His Excellency Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi began his first talks in the French capital, Paris, meeting with The French Prime Minister Jean Castex, in the presence of a number of ministers of the two countries.
During the meeting, they discussed ways to develop a bilateral relationship between the two countries, strengthening them in the economic, investment, security, and health fields.

on Saturday, 9/10/2021, the Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein arrived in the Serbian capital, Belgrade, to participate in the meeting of the States of the Non-Aligned Movement, which will be held to commemorate the sixtieth anniversary of the first conference of the founding of the Movement, which will be hosted by the Republic of Serbia for the period from 11-12/10/2021.

Coinciding with the declaration of October 3rd as National Holiday for the Republic of Iraq, Rare Documents Presented from Archives of the League of Nations in Geneva, Regarding This Historic Day.
The General Assembly of the League of Nations agreed on October 3, 1932, to accept Iraq as a member of the League of Nations upon the request submitted by the Iraqi Kingdom with the signature of former Prime Minister Nouri Pasha Al-Saeed on July 12, 1932, becoming the first Arab country to join this international organization at the time.



Foreign Minister meets President of the United Nations General Assembly

Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein met the President of the United Nations General Assembly for the 76th session, Mr. Abdulla Shahid, on the sidelines of the current session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Mr. Shahid thanked the Minister of Foreign Affairs for the support of Iraq in assuming this position, reviewing the priorities that he will work to implement during his current term, in light of facing the challenges posed by the Corona pandemic.



Minister of Foreign Affairs affirms that Iraq has succeeded in holding meetings between countries of region to resolve differences and crises among them

Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein met, on the sidelines of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway, Mrs. Ine Eriksen Soreide. During the meeting, they discussed strengthening and developing bilateral relations between the two countries, and the latest political, security, regional and international developments, in addition to Iraq’s efforts to promote peace and stability in the Middle East, the latest of which was Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership that was held at the end of last August.



Foreign Minister: Ministerial Committee of Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership will hold meeting in New York on sidelines of 76th session of United Nations General Assembly

Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein participated on Monday 20/9/2021 in the annual consultative meeting of the Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level, which was held at the headquarters of the permanent mission of the State of Kuwait to the United Nations.



Minister of Foreign Affairs delivers Iraq’s speech at joint ministerial meeting of Cooperation Council for Arab States of Gulf

Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein delivered on Thursday 16/9/2021 Iraq’s speech at the joint ministerial meeting of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf.

In his speech, the Minister expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Secretary General of the Cooperation Council of the Arab States of the Gulf, Mr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf, for his care and great interest in the success of the strategic dialogue between the Republic of Iraq and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. He noted that these meetings established a new stage to build bridges of trust and find appropriate mechanisms to achieve economic, commercial, investment and security cooperation, represented by the joint action plan between Iraq and the GCC states.



Foreign Minister Arrives in Austria to Participate in Alpbach Forum for Security and Cooperation

Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein arrived on August 30, 2021in the Austrian capital, Vienna, at the invitation of His Excellency the Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg to participate in the AlpbachForum for Security and Cooperation, which will be held in Austria on September 1, 2021.

His Excellency is expected to hold, on the sidelines of the forum, a meeting with the Austrian Foreign Minister, to discuss bilateral political, economic, cultural and security relations and ways of enhancing them.



Iraqi Foreign Minister and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Chair Meetings of Joint Iraqi-Russian committee

The Foreign Minister, Fuad Hussein and Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov chaired the meetings of the Iraqi-Russian Joint Committee of the ninth session, held in Moscow on Thursday, August 26, 2021, to discuss files of bilateral cooperation between Baghdad and Moscow, and ways to develop them to serve the two friendly countries.

On Saturday, August 21, 2021, the Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein received his Japanese counterpart, Mr. Toshimitsu Motegi, in Baghdad. During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, and ways to enhance them to meet the aspirations of the two friendly countries. The two sides also discussed regional and international issues of common interest.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Receives His Japanese Counterpart Toshimitsu Motegi in Baghdad

On Saturday, August 21, 2021, the Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein received his Japanese counterpart, Mr. Toshimitsu Motegi, in Baghdad. During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, and ways to enhance them to meet the aspirations of the two friendly countries. The two sides also discussed regional and international issues of common interest.

Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein and his accompanying delegation arrived in Tehran Tuesday, 8/10/2021. The minister will meet the Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi, in addition to a number of Iranian officials, and they will discuss issues related to bilateral relations and the security situation in the region, in addition to handing over the invitation from the Prime Minister. Mustafa Al-Kadhimi to the Iranian President to attend the summit meeting of the neighboring countries of Iraq.



Foreign Minister discusses with his Iranian Counterpart issues of common interest

Foeign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein met on Tuesday 10/8/2021 his counterpart Mohammed Javad Zarif in Tehran.

The Minister expressed his desire to work to support and strengthen relations between Baghdad and Tehran in a way that reflects their depth, stressing his keenness to maintain bilateral cooperation in various fields in the next stage to achieve the common interests of the two countries, and to activate the memorandums of understanding agreed upon with the Iraqi government.



Minister of Foreign Affairs Delivered Iranian President Invitation letter from Prime Minister Mustafa Al Kadhimi

On Tuesday, August 10, 2021, Foreign Minister FuadHussein conveyed a letter of invitation from Prime Minister Mustafa Al Kazemi to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ibrahim Raisi to attend the “Iraqi Neighboring Countries Conference”.

The Minister stressed that the “Iraqi Neighboring Countries Conference” is being held in the context of arrangements aimed at supporting the political process and economic growth of Iraq.
