Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani met with representatives from American and Western media outlets in Washington D.C. on Wednesday evening (Baghdad time), discussing Iraq`s bilateral relations with the United States during a crucial and sensitive period marked by escalating regional tensions that threaten to widen the scope of conflict and war.

During his official visit to the United States, Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani met with the family of Kayla Mueller, who was kidnapped by ISIS terrorists in Aleppo, Syria in 2013 while working in humanitarian relief and killed in 2015.
The family handed Prime Minister Al-Sudani a letter requesting the Iraqi government`s assistance in conducting an investigation that could lead to the recovery of their daughter’s remains, citing Iraq`s extensive experience in counterterrorism and knowledge of terrorist groups within ISIS.
Prime Minister Al-Sudani expressed his deep sympathy for the family and confirmed that specialized security agencies would initiate an investigation to find any information that could lead to Mueller’s remains. He emphasized that terrorism in Iraq has targeted all Iraqis regardless of religion, race, or ethnicity, and the sacrifices made by the people have ultimately led to the defeat of terrorism in the country.

Prime Minister Al-Sudani expressed Iraq`s commitment to integrating modern technology into the oil industry and expanding Iraq’s capacities in producing and exporting oil products.

The Prime Minister invited the company to participate in completing the Basra Refinery, highlighting the government`s readiness to provide all necessary facilitations for foreign companies operating in Iraq, supporting them, and preparing the necessary investment environment.

Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani welcomed a delegation from the American company Baker Hughes at his residence in Washington, D.C., early Thursday morning (Baghdad time).
During the meeting, they discussed the company`s operations in Iraq in the oil and gas sectors. The Prime Minister stressed that gas projects are a priority for the government to meet the needs of power stations and to stop the environmental damage caused by gas flaring. He encouraged the company to contribute to establishing a chemical plant for materials used in drilling and oil extraction processes.

Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani met with CEOs and representatives of major American companies in Washington D.C. on Wednesday. The meeting, hosted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, included a dialogue session and the Prime Minister addressed various inquiries related to Iraq’s investment environment and the facilitations provided by the government to the private sector.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Al-Sudani oversaw the signing of several Memorandums of Understanding between the Iraqi Ministries of Electricity and Oil, the Iraq Development Fund, and various American corporations. MOUs were also signed by the Iraqi private sector companies and American companies in the fields of energy and pharmaceutical manufacturing.

He outlined the government`s vision to develop a sustainable relationship that encompasses all areas including security, which is currently being addressed through systematic foundational work starting with the High Military Commission. HMC is set to discuss the mission of the international coalition and is part of ongoing dialogues between the Iraqi Ministry of Defense and the Pentagon to define the future security relationship.

The meeting also commended the Iraqi government`s reform measures and approach in strengthening the economy, and its steps to enhance security and stability efforts in Iraq and the region.

The discussions covered the situation in Gaza, emphasizing the urgent need to stop the war and protect unarmed civilians, and children and women, to enhance to the stability and security of the region.
