During the meeting, the two sides discussed the latest developments in
the Middle East and their implications for Iraq, as well as prospects
for cooperation between Iraq and the United States following the
formation of the Iraqi government.

The discussions also covered a number
of areas aimed at strengthening bilateral relations, including
cooperation in the fields of energy, health, education, and agriculture.

Ambassador Al-Khairallah praised Senator Van Hollen’s efforts in
supporting bilateral relations between the two countries, while the
Senator expressed his interest in Iraq and affirmed his readiness to
support and enhance cooperation in various areas of mutual interest.
