The Foreign Minister expressed Iraq’s deep appreciation to the United States and the Global Coalition for their sacrifices and support to Iraqi security forces in defeating ISIS. He reaffirmed Iraq’s commitment to the state’s exclusive control over weapons and decisions of war and peace.
He also thanked the U.S. Government and Treasury for their understanding and respect for religious freedom, including the importance of tolerance, access to holy sites, and the resumption of flights for pilgrims traveling to Najaf—shared values that strengthen the Iraq–U.S. partnership.
