Foreign Minister Dr. Ibrahim al-Jaafari arrived on May 26, 2015 to the State of Kuwait for a several-day visit to participate in the 42nd session of the Foreign Ministers of Islamic Cooperation Council (GCC).
During the session, Minister al-Jaafari will deliver a speech to outline Iraq's vision to the regional challenges it is facing and effective solutions to end tension in the entire region and the world. In addition, the Minister will highlight the role of the Islamic Cooperation Council for the advancement of its responsibilities in keeping the unity and dignity of peoples and to promote adequate and productive dialogue.
In his remarks, Minister al-Jaafari will also review the Iraqi government's efforts in the war against the terrorists of the so-called Islamic State (IS) and the sacrifices offered by the armed forces, sons of the Popular Mobilization, the Peshmerga and tribes, in the defense of the global threat posed by the gangs of IS. The Minister will also discuss supplies necessary to alleviate the suffering of displaced families.
