Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein met with Greek Prime Minister Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis at Maximos Mansion.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between Baghdad and Athens, and ways to enhance and develop them to serve the interests of the two friendly countries.
The Minister praised Greece’s stances in support of Iraq in various fields, especially in the field of war against Da’esh terrorist gangs, stressing that the Iraqis have achieved successive victories against Da’esh terrorists, and that these victories are for the whole world against terrorism, since Iraq fought in defense of its sovereignty and dignity, and on behalf of all countries of the world.
The Minister conveyed the greetings and appreciation of the Prime Minister, Mr. Mustafa Al-Kadhimi to the Greek Prime Minister, and on his behalf invited the Prime Minister of Greece to visit Iraq.
In turn, the Greek Prime Minister promised to accept the invitation in the coming months.
The meeting was attended from the Iraqi side by the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Greece, Mr. Shoresh Khaled, Head of the Europe Department at the Ministry, Ambassador Abdul Karim Toama, and from the Greek side by Foreign Minister Mr. Nikos Dendias, and the Head of the Prime Minister’s Diplomatic Office, Ambassador Eleni Sourani.
