The Business Council for International Understanding hosted a series of business discussions on July 9th, 2013 in New York City in honor of Appointed-Ambassador Faily.
Top American companies were present at the meetings, which had a primary focus on the financial and energy sectors.
During the event, Ambassador Faily delivered remarks and spoke about the recent decision for Citibank to open a branch in Iraq. “This Iraq-Citi venture indicates the promising future of Iraq, and will pave the way for more U.S. investment and businesses to enter Iraq. It will also strengthen the economic ties and foster trade between our two countries,” the Ambassador said.
The Ambassador concluded his statement by complimenting the American companies doing work in Iraq, and urged them to continue their contribution to fostering economic growth for Iraq and the United States.
Ambassador Faily also held talks with executives and directors from Citigroup, MasterCard and Bloomberg, and Mr. Faily encouraged other firms to follow the decision by Citibank.
