On November 19, 2013, Ambassador Faily was hosted by the Global Business Forum as the guest of honor at the George Town Club in Washington, DC.
Ambassador Faily was joined at the luncheon by a range of senior executives from American and multinational businesses that are working in Iraq.
The Ambassador outlined Iraq’s progress on moving towards a market economy and stressed the critical role of foreign investment and expertise in rebuilding Iraq’s infrastructure and reforming its economy.
Ambassador Faily also answered questions posed by participants on political developments in the country and listened to their views on some of the challenges affecting foreign companies that are operating in Iraq.
